Famous Arias from Mozart operas with Hermann Prey
Staatskapelle Dresden - Conductor: Otmar Suitner
The FonoForum wrote on 7/96: “..all very songlike, unaffected and brilliantly sung – harmoniously accompanied by Otmar Suitner and the Dresden Philharmonic State Orchestra.”
There are now recordings with unprecedented sound quality. The analogue recordings from 1970 were the foundation for Christoph Stickel’s subtle “refurbishing”. The aim was in no way to interfere artificially. The recordings were merely “rid of noise”.
The Dresden Philharmonic State Orchestra and Hermann Prey under the leadership of Otmar Suitner were denied from many music lovers because of the restricted travel conditions in the GDR. Now there are recordings with unprecedented sound quality and release worldwide for the first time. Protagonists involved count as unique and have found their place in history books.
