  • On April 2023 the famous and critically acclaimed UK singer, Fink went with LowSwing Records Producer, Guy Sternberg to the studio and record what later will be “The LowSwing Sessions”

As Fink Later wrote: “The Session was the catalyst of musical desire...a few days in a real recording studio with some friends, stellar sessionistas, and nothing to think about apart from singing and playing.”

The “Stellar” musicians Fink talks about are some of the best musicians out there: Tim Lefebvre (David Bowie's bass player on Black Star), Drummer Earl Harvin (Seal, Jeff Beck), Thomas Moked Blum (Patricia Kaas), Haggai Cohen-Milo and Doron Segal.

In the 2 days session Fink and the band put down to tape some of Fink's favorite tracks from Bowie and The Smiths, some of Guy's all-time choices from Soundgarden and Little Feat and a couple of Fink's own classic cuts. The Album was record and mixed at one of Berlin's oldest studios Tritonus were Nick Cave, Erasure, Element of Crime and many other made their records. The recording was done on 2-inch 24-track Studer A827 and was mixed down to a Studer A80 ½-inch machine at 30ips.

This album is produced in co-operation with Brinkmann Audio, high-end manufacturer of the world’s finest turntables and audio components. LowSwing Recordings are recorded and mixed to analogue tape and then cut directly to vinyl. No computers, digital mixing or AD/DA conversion are used in the mastering process. The album utilizes LowSwing's unique collection of vintage equipment and instruments from the 1960's and ‘70's, much of which has been modified to the studio’s exacting requirements.

LowSwing Records is a record label dedicated to the love of music on the analogue format. LowSwing recordings are recorded and mixed to analogue tape, and then cut directly to vinyl. The heart of the label is LowSwing Recording Studio in Berlin (www.lowswing.de), where owner Guy Sternberg records, mixes, and produces exciting new artists with the production values of yesteryear.
